Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou made a heartfelt dedication after his team clinched their fourth consecutive MTN8 trophy, a 3-0 extra-time victory over the Maroons.
Ouaddou honored everyone involved in the recent car accident, including star defender Thapelo Xoki.
The match itself was a grind, with the Pirates finally finding their rhythm in extra time. Tshepang Moremi netted two goals and Tshegofatso Mabasa scored another to put the game away.
Ouaddou, a survivor of the crash, also paid special tribute to his technical staff, and singled out goalkeeper coach Tyrone Damons for his courage as he continues his recovery.

“So, I’m very happy for the club, for the fans and players as well and thank my, staff, South African staff for this title and I would like to dedicate this victory to the coach of the goalkeeper Tyrone who has been in accident and is watching us at home,” Ouaddou told SuperSport TV.
“Thapelo as well my player, and I don’t forget Kabunda the team manager we’ve been in the accident two weeks ago so I thank God for this title. So, maybe we could not if God was not there we could’ve passed away because it was very dangerous.
“So, I’m very today to just celebrate with the fans and my players and all the lovers of football in South Africa.”
