Peter Shalulile sends scary message after record-equalling PSL goal

Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile looks to have decided to stay at the club and has fired a warning to their rivals.

Shalulile was on target on Wednesday night as he scored the second goal in Sundowns’ 2-0 win over Magesi FC at the Seshego Stadium after Jayden Adams had broken the deadlock.

That goal made history for the Namibian striker as it saw him equal the all-time PSL scoring record of 129 goals set by Kaizer Chiefs legend Siyabonga Nomvethe.

Shalulile, who was reported to be close to joining Tunisian giants Esperance, saw the deal fail to materialise and he is now targeting big things with Sundowns.

“To be honest, I just want to thank my team-mates,” Shalulile, who was starting his first match of the season, told SuperSport TV.

“For us it’s just coming into the game and scoring goals. But I believe many more goals will come.

What is Peter Shalulile promising?

“I’m looking forward to the new season, my first start. I don’t want to mention more things about the top goal scorer because I know it’s going to end very well this year.”

The 31-year-old says he has set himself a lofty target which he is determined to achieve this campaign.

“To score many more goals, I believe that many goals will come, I just need to get my confidence back. 25 goals, with God by my side it’s possible,” added the striker.

Shalulile will hope to play a key role for Sundowns in their MTN8 semi-final second leg against Orlando Pirates at a sold-out Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.
