Pirates vs Sundowns: Stadium Management issue ticketing update ahead of potential title decider

Stadium Management South Africa has issued a ticketing update ahead of Orlando Pirates’ PSL clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Pirates will welcome Sundowns in what could be the potential title decider on Wednesday, February 18 with both sides looking for three points that will boost their chances of winning the PSL crown.

The Buccaneers head into the fixture six points clear of Sundowns and will be looking to extend it to nine, even though the Brazilians would still have a match in hand, but it could be a big boost to their title aspirations.

Pirates will, however, have to do it away from their traditional home which is Orlando Stadium as the match was moved to the FNB Stadium with the kick off set at 19:30.

On Monday, Stadium Management announced that 31,000 tickets have been sold so far with the total expected being 60,000. Season ticket holders for Orlando Amstel Arena will be able to use them at FNB Stadium with roads set to close at 18:00.

Pirates hosted Sundowns at FNB Stadium last season with over 60,000 tickets sold and will be looking for the same as they head into the match high on confidence after Abdeslam Ouaddou’s team added another win on the board.

Pirates beat Marumo Gallants 3-0 on Saturday but their coach was not happy after the match, slamming his players for complacency as he felt they did not fully utilise their chances.

He will hope to get a reaction against Sundowns, who Pirates have already faced three times this season, twice in the MTN8 semi-final, one in the PSL, with all of them ending 1-1.

Pirates lead the PSL standings with 38 points from 16 games while Sundowns are second with 32, having played 15 matches.
