Premier Soccer League Match Week 12: Nine players and one coach suspended

Published on by

As the Betway Premiership enters match week 12, midweek fixtures promise high-stakes action—but several teams will be forced to adapt due to disciplinary suspensions. A total of nine players and one assistant coach are sidelined, impacting lineups and strategies across the league.

AmaZulu FC will be without defender Taariq Fielies as they prepare to face Polokwane City FC. Coincidentally, Polokwane City will also be missing a key player Mpho Mvundlela, making this clash a test of depth for both sides.

Chiefs to miss star defender

Inacio Miguel captains Kaizer Chiefs during CUFA Cup.

Kaizer Chiefs are set to take on Orbit College FC, but both teams will be missing defensive assets. Chiefs will be without Inácio Miguel Ferreira dos Santos, while Orbit College will have to cope without Katlego Mkhabela. These absences could open up opportunities for attacking play on both ends.

Magesi FC, who face Chippa United, will be without Lehlohonolo Mtshali. His absence in midfield could affect Magesi’s ability to control the tempo and transition play.

Mamelodi Sundowns will welcome back Tebogo Mokoena, who missed their previous match against Orlando Pirates due to suspension. However, they will still be without Miguel Silva Reisinho, who continues to serve his ban.

Sundowns face TS Galaxy FC, who themselves will be missing midfield dynamo Mpho Mvelase, setting the stage for a potentially unbalanced midfield battle.

Marumo Gallants will be without Simo Bright Luthuli as they travel to face Durban City. Luthuli’s absence could be felt in both defensive and transitional phases of play.

Sekhukhune United’s assistant coach Marc Nathan van Heerden will serve his suspension from the stands during their match against Richards Bay FC. While not a player, his absence from the touchline may influence in-game tactical adjustments.

Siwelele FC will be without their vice captain, Gape Moralo, in their fixture against Stellenbosch FC. Losing a leader on the pitch is always a challenge, and Siwelele will need others to step up in his absence.
