Azam FC are willing to let Tanzania international Feisal Salum leave for free if he does not extend his stay at the club.
The 26-year-old attacker has been a factor in both the club and international level, helping dominate the midfield department effectively. In the 2023/24 edition, the former Yanga SC player found the back of the net 19 times. The attacker, who is also known as Fei Toto by the fans, has four goals and nine assists in the ongoing campaign.
His deal with Azam concludes at the end of the ongoing campaign, but he is hesitant to extend it. Simba SC and Kaizer Chiefs are serious about landing the player, either in the January transfer window or at the end of the campaign.
With no deal reached, the Tanzanian outfit are risking losing the talented creative player for free.
Salum respects Azam
In his recent update to the media, Azam FC's spokesperson Hashim Ibwe denied any contact between them and Amakhosi.
“We can confirm that there have been no discussions between Kaizer Chiefs or any club and Azam FC regarding Feisal Salum. He remains under contract with Azam FC and respects the club, which we appreciate,” he told FarPost.
iDiski Times reported Azam are willing to sell outside the country as opposed to strengthening a direct rival, “We haven’t received any offers at this stage, but one thing I can say is there’s a very small chance for us to sell him because we want to keep him and build this team around him,” an unnamed official stated.
“If it happens that we sell him, it will be outside Tanzania, we cannot sell to our direct competitors. Image selling a weapon to your rival, no we just cannot. For now, we want him to focus and help us.”
