The PSL has set the opening dates for the 2025-26 campaign which will kick off in August across all divisions.

PSL has confirmed that the new campaign will begin on August 1, when the MTN8 matches will kick off, as Orlando Pirates, under new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, begin the defence of their title.

Pirates won a third straight MTN8 crown under former coach Jose Riveiro and will want to retain their crown in what would be a great start for Moroccan tactician Ouaddou.

There are two new entries into the league after Durban City and Orbit College won promotion from the second tier Motsepe Championship, the former as champions and the latter through a promotion-relegation playoff.

Both of them will hope to emulate Magesi, who retained their top flight status following their promotion in 2024.

Meanwhile, the Motsepe Championship will kick off on August 22 and will have a new guest in the name of Cape Town City, who went down from the PSL, while the DStv Diski Challenge will kick off on September 6.
