The legendary Jerry Sikhosana, the very man who etched his name in South African football history by securing the nation's inaugural continental title with his crucial away goal in Orlando Pirates‘ iconic 1995 triumph over Asec Mimosas, firmly believes that Mamelodi Sundowns are destined for “second star”.
However, he cautions that their success hinges on their ability to heed the critical lessons learned from the first leg, particularly given that previous finals which ended 1-1 in the initial encounter often provide a valuable blueprint for confidence.
The Tshwane giants are set to take on Pyramids in the crucial CAF Champions League final second leg this Sunday at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo.
The first leg ended in 1-1 scoreline with Lucas Ribeiro scoring for Sundowns while Walid El Karti netted the equaliser in the additional time.
Sikhosana has revealed what Sundowns need to do in order to come out victorious on Sunday.

SIKHOSANA ON WHAT SUNDOWNS MUST DO TO BEAT PYRAMIDS
“I give Sundowns credit for doing so well to stop Pyramids from doing their normal attacks from the wings,” said Sikhosana in an interview with iDiski Times.
“They had clearly learnt from the Pyramids and Pirates match, and they did well, only for that lapse of concentration in the final minute, which led to that goal.
“For Sundowns to win this Sunday, they have to make sure they keep the wingers locked down because I’ve never seen Pyramids scoring from combination plays or attacking through the middle.
“Sundowns have a good technical team, and they would have picked that up, and I trust they will have a plan for the second leg. I believe Sundowns will get that second star.”
