Sold out! Orlando Pirates fans make major MTN8 statement

Orlando Pirates will play in front of a sold-out stadium during their MTN8 quarter-final clash against Polokwane City on Saturday.

Pirates will begin the defence of their MTN8 title against Rise and Shine at Orlando Stadium, looking to win an unprecedented fourth trophy in a row, and their fans will occupy every seat.

Pirates confirmed on Friday morning that tickets for the clash have sold out, having gone on sale over one week ago.

What have Orlando Pirates said?

“The much-anticipated MTN8 season opener between Orlando Pirates and Polokwane City will be played in front of a full house, with tickets for the Saturday showdown already completely sold out,” Pirates announced through a club statement.

“Orlando Stadium will be packed to capacity as fans eagerly anticipate their first glimpse of the defending champions in action this season.

“Adding extra excitement is the debut of several new signings and the club’s new coach, who will experience their first official match in front of the passionate Ghost supporters.

“For fans who missed out on tickets, there’s no reason for concern; the highly match will be broadcast live on SuperSport 2 and SABC 1.”

It shows how committed Pirates fans are to seeing their team succeed and the gesture is what new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou would have wished for on his first competitive match in charge of the Buccaneers.

Pirates fans will also get an opportunity to watch some of their new signings who will get opportunities to play with 10 players so far brought in Sipho Mbule, Yanela Mbuthuma, Masindi Nemtajela, Tshepang Moremi, Nkosikhona Ndaba, Sinoxolo Kwayiba, Tshepo Mashiloane, Sihle Nduli, Oswin Appollis, Kamogelo Sibelebele and Azola Tshobeni.
