Bafana Bafana started their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign with a 2-1 win over Angola in a Group B fixture staged at the Marrakesh Stadium.
It was a win that placed them joint top with the seven-time champions Egyot who beat Zimbabwe by the same margin later on Monday night. The two teams are set to meet on Friday in a game that might go a long way in determining who will finish on top of the pool.

One of the players who ipressed for South Africa is the former Orlando Pirates defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi who recently joined Major League Soccer outfit Chicago Fire. He put up a decent shift and was unlucky not to find the back of the net as his rocket came off the woodwork.
Bafana Bafana legend Benedict Vilakazi has now made a bold comparison, insisting Mbokazi’s style is similar to Brazil legend Roberto Carlos.
Mbokazi, Bafana Bafana’s Roberto Carlos?
“Mbokazi is boss! He’s more matured than Ngezana. How he helps that defence in covering Ngezana. How he’s going in, in terms of picking and getting the ball,” he told iDiski TV.
Look at the shot that he took. In this moment of football, give me one defender than Mbokazi that can take a shot like that. The last one was Roberto Carlos. Let’s go back to the history of football. I don’t remember a centre-back unleashing such shots. The last person I saw was Roberto Carlos who did the similar thing.
“This boy he’s growing and for me, this is one player that whatever happens, he must always be safe [from injuries].
“Because if anything will happen to him and Tebza [Teboho Mokoena], and [Ronwen] Williams, maybe I’ll be in hospital. I don’t really think I’ll survive,” Vilakazi concluded.
