Sundowns coach Cardoso now says PSL is ‘inhuman’

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso is happy with the extent his players went despite their 1-0 loss against TS Galaxy in the Premier Soccer League outing at the Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday night.

Kamogelo Sebelebele scored the lone goal of the match to give the Rockets maximum points against the defending champions. It was Sundowns' second loss in the league this season after the initial 1-0 loss against Polokwane.

The former Esperance coach argues the players were stretched to the limit and had nothing to give.

Sundowns players were on the limit – Cardoso

“The market is finished, the players are our players. We have our squad, we’re happy with the players we have,” he stated when asked about possible rotation in the next game.

“We have players that are injured that are recovering, players that could not really participate that could be important. But we’re happy with the players we have, pretty happy. And again, I emphasize, the players gave their best [on Tuesday].

“It’s not a matter of not being on the limit, they were on the limit but they couldn’t do more. It was inhuman to play the fourth match in 72 hours.”

Interestingly, just like Sundowns, TS Galaxy played 11 games as well inside nine days but they looked determined and hungry to deliver. The victory over the Brazilians took them fourth on the table with 25 points from 17 outings.

Masandawana remain at the summit with 42 points from the 16 games they have played, nine points more than Orlando Pirates who have two games at hand.
