Sundowns makes big Club World Cup announcement

The Premier Soccer League side Mamelodi Sundowns has officially confirmed that they are set to depart for the highly anticipated FIFA Club World Cup this Sunday, June 8th. 

The team will embark on their journey from OR Tambo International Airport, with their destination being Bradenton, Florida, in the United States. 

This marks a pivotal moment for Masandawana as they aim to move past the disappointment of their recent CAF Champions League campaign, where they narrowly missed out on the title, falling to Pyramids FC. 

Their focus has now firmly shifted towards achieving glory on the global stage at the Club World Cup.

Under the astute guidance of coach Miguel Cardoso, Mamelodi Sundowns finds themselves in a challenging yet exciting Group F. 

Their formidable opponents include German football powerhouse Borussia Dortmund, the reigning South American champions Fluminense from Brazil, and the strong Asian contender Ulsan HD from South Korea.

SUNDOWNS TO KICK OFF TOURNAMENT WITH ULSAN HD TIE

Masandawana will kick off their tournament campaign with an intriguing opening fixture against Ulsan HD on Tuesday, June 17th. This crucial match will take place at the Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, setting the tone for their performance in the group. 

Following this, they will face their biggest test in the group stage, going head-to-head with Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, June 21st, at the TQL Stadium in Cincinnati. 

Their final group stage encounter will see them take on Fluminense on Wednesday, June 25th, at the iconic Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, a match that could prove decisive for their progression in the tournament. 

The team's schedule promises an exhilarating series of matches as they vie for a spot in the knockout stages of the competition.
