Mamelodi Sundowns have strengthened their defensive line with the signing of versatile defender Keanu Cupido from Cape Town City.
The 27-year-old, who joined City in 2018 from AC Ajaccio B in France, has made a big move leaving the Mother City for Chloorkop.
Cupido amassed 143 appearances for City across all competitions, contributing one goal and three assists.
Sundowns officially unveiled the former Bidvest Wits star on their social media platforms, welcoming him to the club.

“Bafana Bafana international defender Keanu Cupido has joined The Brazilians on a long-term deal!,” Sundowns announced via their social media platforms.

“This is the proudest moment of my footballing career,” expressed Keanu Cupido following his unveiling as a Mamelodi Sundowns player.
“Joining this club feels like coming full circle. I was here as a youngster, then I left, and now I'm back.”
He emphasized the significance of joining Sundowns, stating, “I understand the high standards this club demands, and I'm committed to upholding them.”
Cupido concluded with a resounding declaration of his allegiance: “My name is Keanu Cupido, and I'm Yellow.”
