Kaizer Chiefs players had a familiar guest in their Turkey pre-season camp when the South African ambassador to the country visited them on Tuesday.

Ms Dipuo Letsatsi-Duba linked up with the squad and was met by Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr who expressed his gratitude for her support.

“I'm delighted to welcome Her Excellency to our training camp,” said Motaung Jr, per a statement from the club. “Her visit is a testament to the strong relations between South Africa and Turkey, and we're honoured to be a part of it.”

‘This visit is a great opportunity to strengthen our ties’

Ambassador Letsatsi-Duba feels Chiefs’ presence in Turkey will further strengthen the rich relations between the two countries.

“I'm thrilled to see Kaizer Chiefs here in Turkey, a country with which South Africa has a long history of friendship and cooperation,” she said. “This visit is a great opportunity to strengthen our ties and promote cultural exchange between our nations.”

Chiefs have intensified preparations under Nasreddine Nabi

This visit is a reciprocal gesture, following a courtesy visit by Marketing and Commercial Director Jessica Motaung to the Turkish Ambassador to South Africa, Ms Aysegul Kandas, in Pretoria last week.

Amakhosi have intensified their preparations under new coach Nasreddine Nabi with the club also working to complete their transfer business in time for the 2024-25 season kick off.
