The Mamelodi Sundowns stars will boost Matsatsantsa at the back

SuperSport United have signed Mamelodi Sundowns duo Nyiko Mobbie and Ricardo Goss as they bolster their squad ahead of the new season.

Matsatsantsa are looking to strengthen at the back and defender Mobbie and goalkeeper Goss, who have both joined on two-year deals, are set to help tighten a backline that let in over 30 goals last season.

Mobbie has finally landed a permanent deal after loan spells at Stellenbosch FC, Chippa United and Sekhukhune United since joining Sundowns in 2019.

Mobbie finally landed permanent deal

He has, however, utilised those opportunities and made 35 appearances for Sekhukhune last season which attracted SuperSport’s interest.

“SuperSport United FC is pleased to announce the permanent transfer of Bafana Bafana international defender Nyiko Mobbie on a two-year deal with an option to renew,” the club announced.

While Mobbie has signed permanently, Goss will be at SuperSport on loan again, having been with the Tshwane club for as many years under the same terms.

Sundowns are reluctant to sell keeper Goss

Sundowns seem to view the goalkeeper highly and appear unwilling to sell him given how they have allowed him to stay out on loan for long.

Goss kept nine clean sheets in 32 matches for Matsatsantsa last season although the defence let him down with SuperSport conceding the most goals among the top 10 in the PSL.
