‘This is his last chance’ – Ex-Chiefs winger on Mbule

Published on by

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye hasn't held back in expressing his strong views on Sipho Mbule's much-discussed switch to Orlando Pirates.

The midfielder's move, confirmed by the Buccaneers as their initial acquisition this week after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns, comes amidst a backdrop of persistent reports regarding his problematic off-field behavior.

Khanye firmly believes that Mbule has been incredibly fortunate to be granted what he emphatically describes as a “last chance.”

According to Khanye, this is Mbule's final opportunity to truly showcase his inherent talent and, in doing so, revive his professional standing.

He even went as far as to predict that if Mbule can genuinely reform his ways, he might realistically aim for a spot in the highly anticipated Bafana Bafana 2025 Africa Cup of Nations squad.

‘MBULE IS SO LUCKY’

“Let me be honest I’m surprised, and he is very lucky,” said Khanye on iDiski TV.

“But he must know one thing this is a last chance he has now because we have seen players previously at the club who have had the same problems they got rid of them.

“Even though fans loved them, the club got rid of them and their careers were over. If you leave Orlando Pirates under such a cloud, it’s over.

“Mbule is so lucky, and he must thank his ancestors, he must thank God and age for being on his side. He really needs to understand that should anything happen with him at Orlando Pirates he is done.

“I compliment his God-given talent. The boy is one of the best, one of the most talented players and I cannot wait to see him play with [Patrick] Maswanganyi, Relebohile Mofokeng, [Mohau] Nkota and [Tshegofatso] Mabasa.

“It’s his last chance and if he trains properly, get game time he may even go to the AFCON if he gets his act together.”
