Three PSL stars feature in CAF CL 2024/25 Best XI

Three PSL stars from Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates featured in the CAF Champions League group stages Best XI.

CAF, the African football governing body, announced its Best XI for the CAF Women's Champions League group stage on Wednesday evening. 

The thrilling group stage action concluded in January, leaving eight teams to compete in the upcoming quarterfinals. Sundowns secured their quarterfinal spot as group runners-up to Morocco’s AS FAR Rabat, while Orlando Pirates topped their group. 

Two Orlando Pirates players – Relebohile Mofokeng and Thabiso Sesane – and Sundowns' Teboho Mokoena were named in the Best XI for the group stage.

WHEN WILL THE CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTERS TAKE PLACE

The Draw will be conducted in Qatar's capital, Doha in partnership with CAF media rights partner, beIN Sport on Thursday, 20 February 2025.

Sundowns, as an unseeded team after finishing second in their group, could draw one of the seeded teams: Orlando Pirates, Al Hilal, Esperance, or AS FAR Rabat (whom they cannot face). 

The unseeded teams in the draw are the Brazilians, MC Alger, Pyramids, and Al Ahly (who cannot be drawn against Orlando Pirates). 

One potential quarterfinal matchup is a South African clash between Sundowns and the seeded Pirates.
