TIM SUKAZI EXPLAINS THE SALE OF FIACRE NTWARI TO KAIZER CHIEFS
“We’ve done this before and we are going to reinvest into the project yet again. I believe in SA football having a strong Kaizer Chiefs that is of a high standard, and Ntwari is the type of goalkeeper that will be able to contribute to their project. We cannot have a weak Chiefs, whether you and I like it or not,” said Sukazi as per SABC Sport.
Ntwari will be joining Brandon Petersen, Bruce Bvuma, and Bontle Molefe in the goalkeeping department. Itumeleng Khune appears to be stepping aside for him, as the club is reportedly considering bringing him on board in a non-playing capacity.
The goalkeeping issues at Chiefs have persisted for a considerable period, especially after Khune's decline in form over the past few seasons. Meanwhile, when Khune was injured, various goalkeepers such as Bvuma, Peterson, and the now-departed Daniel Akpeyi would step in.
Initially, the Soweto giants were interested in Edward Maova who eventually signed for Golden Arrows from AmaTuks.
Now, Ntwari is expected to be a major boost for the side having already proven himself at Galaxy in his first campaign in the PSL.
