The PSL transfer window officially opened on Tuesday July 1 but by then, teams had already been busy looking for talent to strengthen their sides.
While incomings are generating interest among fans, there has been curiosity on the outgoings as clubs have been releasing players either deemed surplus to requirements or those who ran their contracts down for pastures new.
Afrik-Foot highlights the top 10 players released by PSL clubs so far.
Innocent Maela

A Pirates legend, Innocent Maela left the Buccaneers at the end of his contract, having become a bit-part player in his final years at the club. Unlike some who have opted to continue elsewhere, he decided to retire but the club is reportedly considering offering him a role.
Sipho Mbule

The much-maligned midfielder was released by Mamelodi Sundowns upon the end of his deal, having spent last season on loan at Sekhukhune United, but he has not waited for long as he was a surprise signing for Orlando Pirates.
Paseka Mako

The full-back was one of the out-of-contract stars who were released by Pirates, having struggled for gametime in the last two seasons, and has reportedly landed a deal with Kaizer Chiefs.
Ranga Chivaviro

The striker was released by Kaizer Chiefs upon the end of his contract after an underwhelming spell with just three goals scored last season and is on the hunt for a new club.
Edmilson Dove

One of the long-serving players at Chiefs, the Mozambique defender, who can play at both centre-back and left-back, was released at the end of his deal, ending his four-year stay at Naturena.
Njabulo Blom

The Kaizer Chiefs academy graduate had a chance to revive his career back home when he secured a season-long loan from MLS club St Louis FC but failed to replicate his form of old and the Glamour Boys opted against exercising their option to sign him permanently.
Sihle Nduli

Midfielder Sihle Nduli opted against renewing his contract at Stellenbosch FC when he learnt of strong interest from Pirates and he has since been unveiled by the Buccaneers.
Brian Onyango

Kenyan defender Brian Onyango landed at Stellenbosch following his release from Sundowns last year but he is looking for another club after the Cape Winelands side decided to dump him after just eight appearances last season.
Gabadinho Mhango

The vastly travelled Malawian striker was recently released by Marumo Gallants and is reported to have joined Richards Bay.
Andile Jali

Legendary midfielder Andile Jali was among over 15 players released by Chippa United last month, having spent the last one season with the Chilli Boys, and will be looking for a third club since leaving Sundowns in 2023.
