The Spaniard coached the Buccaneers for three seasons, winning five trophies in the process. During his reign, the Sea Robbers finished second in the Premier Soccer League as Mamelodi Sundowns continued their dominance.

Sipho Chaine
Well, this shouldn't come as a shock owing to the great season the Bucs custodian had across all competitions.
He had 21 clean sheets from the 47 games played. It explains why he is currently the second-choice keeper at Bafana Bafana. Chaine can push 36-year-old Mohamed El Shenawy to the limit, and the club will benefit.
Mbekezeli Mbokazi
The 19-year-old was thrown into the deep waters owing to injuries suffered by his seniors. The teenager needed one game to cement his place in the starting team.
Mbokazi has since played 19 games for the club across all competitions, but is in the Bafana Bafana team already. Reports have it that Riveiro wants him, but whether Bucs will let him leave is another question.
Nkosinathi Sibisi
The 29-year-old has been serving the Sea Robbers since 2022, when he was signed from Golden Arrows. He showed his worth by playing 42 games last season.
Sibisi is good in the air and perfect in reading attackers' movements. He can bring the physical presence needed in Al Ahly's defense.
Relebohile Mofokeng
The 20-year-old once again played a crucial role for the Soweto giants this season. he was directly involved in the 27 of the club's goals, having found the back of the net 12 times and provided 15 assists.
Apart from links to Europe, Al Ahly have been chasing the youngster. Riveiro can test Pirates' resolve to keep the versatile attacker by breaking the bank.
Monnapule Saleng
The 27-year-old started the 2024/25 season well, playing a vital role to help the club win MTN8 for the third time in a row. However, he fell out with the management, and has not featured for the club since December.
His initial deal with Bucs expired, but they have the right to extend it until 2027. Riveiro can try to negotiate a truce for the winger and revive his career in Cairo.
