TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic made a dramatic exit on Wednesday, resigning live on television during a post-match interview.

The Rockets, who drew 1-1 with Stellenbosch FC at Athlone Stadium in the Betway Premiership, saw their coach announce his departure.

Ramovic, who had been at the helm of the Mpumalanga-based club for three years, cited personal reasons for his decision.

This unexpected move echoes a similar incident involving former Orlando Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral, who resigned live on TV after a heavy defeat to SuperSport United in 2016.

“We had, our staff with me, beautiful impact, it’s one of the most beautiful clubs in my heart,” said Ramovic on SuperSport TV.

“I’d like to say that from now, I’ll resign, I’m not anymore the head coach of this club.

Asked further if it was his game in charge, he said, “Absolutely.”

Ramovic announced that he would be stepping down to spend more time with his family and to explore new opportunities.

“To spend a time with my family, (I’ve spent) a lot of energy in the last three years,” he added.

“But we will see the plans God has for us. But it was just a beautiful thing, the most beautiful country with the most beautiful people.

“It has been an unbelievable three years, everything and memories we had here.

“It’s a beautiful thing.”

‘THEY TRIED TO CONVINCE ME’

The German coach revealed that Galaxy players had attempted to persuade him to reconsider his decision, but he remained steadfast in his choice.

“They tried to convince me, they tried everything but this is…they know they I gave my heart, my soul to them and to this club,” he continued.

“Again, I’m just proud to have been the head coach of this club in the past three years.

“But I think it’s time for something new to come.”
