With Ramovic & his technical team no longer going to Raja, what happens to Parker’s first team promotion?

TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has explained shed light on Bernard Parker’s position at the club following the failed move of Sead Ramovic to Raja Casablanca.

Parker was promoted from DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) coach to first team assistant coach while Ramovic was in advanced talks with Moroccan giants.

The 45-year-old was set to depart with his two assistant coaches, Adnan Beganovic and Mustafa Kodro, as well as goalkeeper coach Greg Etafia.

As a result, Sukazi swiftly went on to appoint an unnamed replacement coach who was come with one assistant coach while Parker would then assume the role a second assistant one.

Now, Ramovic and his coaching staff have returned to Galaxy after the German coach rejected a move to North Africa due to the club's insistence that he join them alone.

Sukazi has clarified that the coach lined up to replace Ramovic will no longer be joining the club, and Parker's promotion has been rescinded.

“The coach was not happy with certain issues in his contract and decided to pull out of the negotiations, and now the matter is closed, he will stay with us for another season,” said Sukazi as quoted by SABC Sport.

“The new coach was coming to join us on condition Sead accepted the Raja Casablanca offer, but as matters stand, with our coach staying, the deal with the other one falls off.

“It is the same with Bernard Parker – he was going to be the second assistant to the incoming coach, but now that situation does not exist anymore – so he also returns to be the head coach of the DDC team alongside Vuyo Mere.”

This will be the first season for Parker and Vuyo Mere in the dugout as they will be leading the Rockets’ reserve team after retiring at the conclusion of last season.
