Zimbabwe’s Warriors are said to be targeting Kaizer Chiefs striker Ranga Chivaviro who’s eligible to play for them.
Chivaviro was born in Limpopo to a mother from South Africa and a father from Zimbabwe. Consequently, he is eligible to represent The Warriors, should he choose to change his nationality to play for Zimbabwe.
The 31-year-old striker has had an impressive start to the season, finding the back of the net on two occasions in three Betway Premiership matches he has played.
The Warriors head coach Michael Nees says admitted Chivaviro is one of the players they are assessing and they are aware of his good start to the season.
WHAT THE WARRIORS COACH SAID ABOUT CHIVAVIRO
“We have a long list of players. And we are interested in every good player but we also have good players here. So we observe players and also make a decision to approach or not when the time is right,” said Nees.
“It’s not just because someone plays at Kaizer Chiefs. Last season he had four goals but before that he had a very good time [at Marumo Gallants].
“We observe every player but we must praise our players, they played very good today [against Namibia]. Like I said we have a long list, and it’s not just about bringing a player.
“He must add value, he had a good time before joining Kaizer Chiefs [at Gallants]. And he has started this season on a high note, so we will see.”
Zimbabwe has been relying on Terrence Dzvukamanja [SuperSport United], Douglas Mapfumo [Polokwane City FC] and Prince Dube [Young Africans].
