Super Eagles attacker Samuel Chukwueze has been the subject of significant transfer speculation at AC Milan this summer, Afrik-Foot reports.
The 27-year-old winger officially returned to the Rossoneri this summer after the conclusion of his season-long loan at Fulham.
He enjoyed a decent campaign there, contributing three goals and four assists in 26 appearances across all competitions. The Cottagers held an option to make the transfer permanent, but they failed to reach an agreement with the Rossoneri.
However, since he admitted that he would love to stay in London, reports linking him to Fulham have not stopped.

What has further added to the uncertainty regarding his future is AC Milan’s appointment of Ruben Amorim as coach. The Portuguese tactician is known to be dogmatic and a no-nonsense manager. Since Chukwueze struggled under two different coaches in his first two years and was eventually loaned out, it remains to be seen whether Amorim wants him in his squad.
In the meantime, Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor has emerged as a potential destination. They are desperate for reinforcements so they can compete for the Super Lig title and challenge for the Europa League next season.
They already sent in a €15 million bid for the Nigerian winger, but the deal was rejected. At first, AC Milan were open to selling Chukwueze, but now, the situation might change.

After weeks of speculation, it appears Samuel Chukwueze will stay at AC Milan, at least for the next season. This comes as coach Amorim has confirmed that the Super Eagles star is part of his plans for the upcoming campaign.
”Before looking outside the squad, we’ll first assess the players we already have. Musah and Chukwueze have qualities that we could make the most of,” Amorim said in his first press conference.
This means that Chukwueze will get a shot at proving his quality this season. Previously, Afrik-Foot stated that the Super Eagles star could be deployed as a wing-back due to Amorim’s preference for a 3-4-3 formation. That is a possibility, but he could also remain up front in the final third.

This is a massive boost for Chukwueze, as he will have a sense of assuredness and purpose as he returns from pre-season.
But for sure, he will have to work hard and perform consistently if he wants to maintain a regular starting shirt at the club. With just two years left on his contract, this year will definitely be key for his future.
