Atletico Madrid are prepared to part ways with Super Eagles attacker Ademola Lookman this summer, Afrik Foot reports.
The 28-year-old joined Diego Simeone’s side last February from Atalanta for €35m, and in 24 games for The Colchoneros, he was able to score nine goals and provide three assists.
However, his ability to fit into the club’s philosophy has come under question, and he could be on the way out of the Metroplitano this summer.

Why Atletico Madrid want to sell Ademola Lookman
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the club are open to formal offers for the ex-Atalanta man after coach Diego Simeone raised concerns about Lookman’s ability to adapt to his philosophy and tactical demands.
However controversial the reason might be, the conclusion was reached after several members of staff agreed with Simeone’s opinions on the England-born Nigerian forward.
Additionally, the club need to raise funds after a poor season that saw them end without silverware. They believe they can get up to sixty million euros from Lookman’s sale.

Away from Lookman, the Madrid club are also open to offers for other players like Thiago Almada and midfielder Álex Baena, but the most important topic will be that of Julian Álvarez, who has huge interest from Barcelona, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.
The club hierarchy, at the moment, wants to prioritise building a much more compact and lethal sporting project, and as such, are looking to complete all sales before the end of June, as they look to usher in new players at the start of next season.

Atletico Madrid finished 4th on the La Liga table in the just-concluded campaign, 25 points behind league leaders Barcelona, which is simply not good enough by their standards.
