He opened the scoring in the 9th minute with a sharp finish inside the box, giving the home side an early lead. It was his 15th Serie A goal of the season.

Atalanta, however, eased off after the opener, allowing Roma back into the game.

The goal appeared to jolt Atalanta back to life. They pressed forward with Lookman and Charles De Ketelaere leading the charge, but couldn’t find another breakthrough before the break.

In the second half, Gian Piero Gasperini's men kept pushing and were rewarded in the 76th minute when substitute Ibrahim Sulemana scored what proved to be the winning goal.

Atalanta held firm to secure a vital three points, boosting their hopes of securing Champions League football next season.
