The transfer drama deadlock between Ademola Lookman and Atalanta has now reached a point of no return.
Afrik-Foot reported previously that the reigning CAF Player of the Year had, in a bid to force a reckoning between La Dea and preferred destination Internazionale, deleted all references to Atalanta from his social media accounts.
In addition, Lookman has now revealed, via his social media on Sunday, that he has handed in an official transfer request.

Why has Ademola Lookman put in a transfer request?
In the week of Monday, July 28, Inter put in a second offer for the 27-year-old, one which was an improvement on their initial proposal. It was believed that the new offer, of €45 million inclusive of add-ons, would be enough to reach an agreement over the transfer.
However, Atalanta have remained adamant as to their desire for €50 million, which is their valuation of Lookman, refusing to budge even slightly in negotiations.
In his statement explaining his transfer request decision, the Nigeria international pleaded for understanding from the Atalanta faithful, stressing his longstanding loyalty to the club prior to this summer.

Lookman, however, gave two important reasons for his drastic move to force a transfer to Inter.
Broken promises
“…myself and the ownership of the club have been in agreement that now is the right time and the club were clear with me that if a fair offer came in they would allow me to move.
“Despite now receiving an offer in alignment to what I believed had been discussed, sadly the club are blocking the opportunity for reasons I do not understand.”
Poor treatment
“As a result [of] what I feel has been poor treatment towards me as both a human being and as a professional footballer, sadly I feel I have no choice but to speak out for what I believe is right and I feel that enough is enough.”
