AFCON 2024: Bafana Bafana confirmed lineup vs DR Congo – Who replaces Kekana?

Published on by Kelechi Udoka, updated on

South Africa's Bafana Bafana and DR Congo will battle for bronze on Saturday February 10 at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.

Unfortunately, Hugo Broos will not be able to call upon the services of Grant Kekana.

The Mamelodi Sundowns player was sent off in the semi-final against Nigeria's Super Eagles after a foul on Terem Moffi.

Broos has reverted back to his trusty 4-2-3-1 formation, with SuperSport United's Siyanda Xulu taking Kekana's place in the starting XI.

Also, Nkosinathi Sibisi replaces Mothobi Mvala in Hugo Broos' starting XI. The Orlando Pirates player made his AFCON 2024 debut in the semi-final against Nigeria.

The only other change of note is Percy Tau being dropped to the bench, while Mihlali Mayambela and Thapelo Morena have been given a chance in the starting XI.

Ronwen Williams starts between the sticks. The Masandawana player is still in contention for the Golden Glove, and will be eyeing his fifth clean sheet of the tournament.
