AFCON 2024: Super Eagles confirmed line-up vs Guinea-Bissau

Published on by Emmanuel Ayamga

Nigeria have named their starting line-up for their final Group A of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2024) against Guinea Bissau on Monday, 22 January.

The Super Eagles are aiming to top the group and victory over the Djurtus at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium will see that dream become a reality.

Jose Peseiro’s side is already without the services of midfielder Alhassan Yusuf, while defender William Troost-Ekong also misses out following a late injury.

The Portuguese coach has, therefore, made a couple of changes to his team ahead of the game against Guinea-Bissau.

Nevertheless, the West Africans have paraded a strong line-up, as they aim to leave no stone unturned against an opponent that has stung them in the past.

Enforced changes to Super Eagles line-up

Stanley Nwabali maintains his spot in the post, while Ola Aina, Kenneth Omeruo, Semi Ajayi and Calvin Bassey form the back four.

Frank Onyeka is partnered in the middle of the park by Bright Osayi-Samuel, with Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze tasked with proving width.

Joe Aribo also returns to the starting line-up for the first time since the opening game against Equatorial Guinea and will play just behind main striker Victor Osimhen.
