Akor Adams: Premier League clubs interested in Sevilla and Super Eagles star

Published on by

Nigerian striker Akor Adams could be heading for a move to the Premier League this summer, with interest growing following his strong season in Spain, Afrik-Foot reports.

Reports in Spain suggest that a couple of clubs in the English top-flight enquired about Adams in the winter but they withdrew their interest after Sevilla showed not desire to sell.

While the reports did not name the Premier League clubs, both West Ham United and Fulham are known to have closely monitored the forward in recent times. West Ham could view Adams as a player who can add depth and competition to their attack, while Fulham may be looking at him as a long-term option to strengthen their forward line.

Adams only joined Sevilla in January 2025 from Montpellier, but his rapid development has quickly attracted attention from across Europe. Spanish reports also claim that clubs in the Saudi Pro League are keeping an eye on him, while Italian giants AC Milan were previously linked with the striker.

The 26-year-old has not hidden his ambition either, having openly described playing in the Premier League as a dream. However, any move will not come cheap. Sevilla are believed to value Adams at around €30 million, a significant rise from the fee they paid just over a year ago.

Strong season raises Akor Adams’ value

Akor Adams’ growing reputation is built on a season where he has delivered consistently for both club and country. Despite Sevilla’s struggles in La Liga, he has stood out as their most reliable attacking player.

The former Montpellier star has scored eight league goals and provided three assists in 26 appearances, making him the club’s top scorer. His importance has been even clearer in key moments.

Shortly after returning from international duty in January, he scored twice against Elche to rescue a point, and earlier in the campaign he found the net in an impressive win over Barcelona.

His form has come at a time when Sevilla have been battling near the bottom of the table. The club has spent much of the season just above the relegation zone, and while a recent win over Atlético Madrid helped ease the pressure, their situation remains delicate.

On the international stage, Adams also impressed for Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. He scored three goals and added two assists as the Super Eagles finished third. One of his standout performances came against Mozambique, where he scored once and assisted twice, while he also found the net in a crucial win over Algeria.

Playing alongside stars like Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, Adams showed he can perform on a big stage, further boosting his profile ahead of the summer transfer window.

Financial pressure could force Sevilla sale

While Akor Adams remains under contract with Sevilla until 2029, his future at the club is far from certain. Reports in Spain suggest that Sevilla’s financial situation could force them to sell one of their most valuable players.

The club is dealing with significant debt and strict salary limits imposed by La Liga, which has made it difficult to manage their squad. They are also under pressure to raise funds before the end of June, meaning player sales may be unavoidable.

In that context, Adams represents one of their most valuable assets. A sale in the region of €30 million would go a long way in easing their financial problems, especially as his value has risen sharply after his performances this season.
