Watch: Antoine Griezmann gifts ex-Barcelona star Lookman’s jersey

France and Atletico Madrid midfielder Antoine Griezmann has gifted his ex-International teammate Samuel Umtiti an Ademola Lookman jersey, Afrik Foot reports.

The 34-year-old scored the second goal of the night for Diego Simeone’s men after Joan Garcia’s own goal opened the floodgates at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.

Ademola Lookman then came up trumps with the third goal of the game, on the back of a Julian Alvarez pass.

The Super Eagles star turned provider for the game’s fourth goal, laying the ball into Alvarez’s path before the Argentine blasted into the top corner to break his 12-game goalless streak, netting his first since the turn of the year.

Griezmann gifts Samuel Umtiti a Lookman jersey

A 4-0 win puts Los Rojiblancos in a good position heading into the second leg of their Copa del Rey clash against Barcelona at the Spotify Camp Nou, with the fixture set for the 3rd of March.

Samuel Umtiti spent six years at Barcelona, playing against Griezmann as a rival, although the pair donned the Blue colour of the French National team with pride, winning the 2018 FIFA World Cup together.

Umtiti retired from football last year after battling chronic knee injuries, but was present at the Wanda Metropolitano last night and spoke to Griezmann in the mixed zone after the game.

The former Real Sociedad man gifted Umtiti a jersey, thanking him for the memories they made at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, before surprising him with another jersey, this time of the club’s latest signing, Ademola Lookman.

Lookman has now scored two goals and provided two assists in three games for Atletico since he arrived in the first week of February.

Atletico will be hoping their big win against Barcelona will reflect on their performances against the league as they look to close the gap at the top of the table.
