Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala has signed a two-year deal with Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal in the Women’s Premier League.
The 30-year-old completed her medical in Riyadh on Monday and was unveiled by the club on Tuesday, where she was handed the number 8 shirt. Her latest move ends a short stint in the United States with Bay FC, where she had joined ahead of their debut season in the National Women’s Soccer League season.
Oshoala’s arrival continues a growing Nigerian presence in Saudi Arabia, with Ashleigh Plumptre and Francisca Ordega, fellow 2024 WAFCON winners, already playing in the league. Al Hilal finished sixth last term in an expanded 10-team competition.

Asisat Oshoala’s storied career now in its twilight
The Lagos-born forward started out at FC Robo and Rivers Angels before moving to Liverpool and Arsenal in England, then to Chinese side Dalian Quanjian.

Her peak years came at Barcelona, where she scored 107 goals in 149 matches, winning five league titles and two UEFA Women’s Champions League trophies. Twice nominated for the Ballon d’Or, she remains Africa’s most decorated women’s footballer with six to her name.
Now 30, Oshoala takes her experience and pedigree to Saudi Arabia, where she will link up with her Super Falcons teammates and add star power to a league on the rise.
