Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey opened his goal account for the season, netting a crucial strike as Fulham secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

Bassey sealed the victory in the 62nd minute, calmly finishing at the far post from a Fulham corner to restore his team's lead.

The encounter began with Emile Smith Rowe putting Fulham ahead in the 15th minute, nodding in a well-placed cross from Adama Traoré.

The Tricky Trees responded in the 37th minute, as Chris Wood capitalised on a precise pass from Morgan Gibbs-White to level the score.

However, Bassey's decisive strike proved to be the difference, securing all three points for Fulham and strengthening their standing in the Premier League. They remain third and well beyond expectations compared to last season.

Saturday’s triumph reinforces Fulham’s dominance over Nottingham Forest, marking their fifth victory in six meetings since both clubs secured promotion to the Premier League three years ago.
