Bayern Munich enter race for 201-goal Super Eagles star

German giants Bayern Munich have added Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen to their list of attacking targets as they plan ahead for next season, Afrik-Foot reports.

According to reports, the German champions have placed the Nigerian international top on their shopping list.

The Galatasaray forward has continued to shine with his sharp finishing and physical presence, drawing attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs. His strong performances have only increased interest in a striker already known for scoring goals wherever he plays.

Osimhen first announced himself at Napoli, where he played a huge role in their famous 2022/23 Serie A title win.

He scored 26 league goals that season, becoming one of the most feared forwards in Europe thanks to his pace, power, and cool finishing in front of goal.

With that form carrying on in Turkey, Bayern and several other top sides are now watching closely as the summer transfer window approaches.

Galatasaray stand firm over Super Eagles star Osimhen

Despite the growing interest, Galatasaray have made it clear they are not planning to sell their star striker.

Club insider Arda Özkurt moved quickly to calm rumours suggesting Osimhen could leave at the end of the season. After an impressive loan spell, Galatasaray signed him permanently last summer on a deal that runs until June 2029.

Reports have linked Osimhen with Barcelona, who are believed to be searching for a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski, while Atlético Madrid have also been mentioned as possible suitors.

Some claims even suggested the Nigerian forward was unhappy in Istanbul.

Özkurt strongly denied that suggestion, saying:

I asked Galatasaray if they had any interest in Victor Osimhen. The answer was, ‘We haven’t received any offers, and we have no intention of selling him.'”

He added: “Osimhen has no plans to leave either. Those who are spreading these rumors do not have good intentions.”

So far this season, Osimhen has scored 15 goals in 21 matches taking his total tally across his career to 201 goals.
