Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Sara has applauded Victor Osimhen’s impact in Galatasaray’s 5-2 win over Juventus in the Champions League playoff, Afrik Foot reports.
The 27-year-old led the line for Okan Buruk’s side, although the Galatasaray coach hinted he’d go for an Osimhen-Icardi pairing against the Old Ladies as he did against Eyüpspor last weekend.
Still, Osimhen playing as a lone striker was instrumental in the Cim Bom’s Aslan win, although he didn’t grab a goal on the night.
The ex-Napoli man was involved in the build-up to four of Galatasaray’s five goals, and his teammate has lauded him for his relentless runs off the ball.

Gabriel Sara lauds Victor Osimhen in Juventus win
The 26-year-old Brazilian midfielder was given the man of the match award after scoring a goal and setting up another last night, but he gave the credit to the team.
“An incredible prize. The team’s effort is most important. I’m happy with my goal, too. I worked hard for it. We had an amazing night,” the former Norwich City midfielder said in quotes revealed by Galatasaray’s official website.

Quizzed about the effect of Osimhen up front, the versatile midfielder said;
“He is a very important and key player for us. Osimhen is also a very valuable player to us.
“We knew it would be too hard. Football can be so cruel. We’ll play in Italy, and it’ll be hard. We need to be careful, we need to continue our success,” Sara concluded.

Galatasaray will travel twice in the next week. The first is a trip to the Medaş Konya Büyükşehir Stadyumu in three days to take on Konyaspor before flying to Turin for the return leg of the playoff against Juventus next week.
