Nigeria’s Super Eagles B are set to renew their fierce rivalry with Ghana's Black Galaxies in the second round of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2025 qualifiers this December.

The two sides were drawn together during the CHAN draw held in Cairo, Egypt, setting the stage for a highly anticipated two-legged clash.

The first leg of the encounter is slated to take place in Ghana between December 20 and 22, with the return leg scheduled in Nigeria from December 27 to 29, 2024. Both teams will be vying for a coveted spot in next year’s CHAN tournament, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

The Super Eagles B, managed by Fidelis Ilechukwu and Daniel Ogunmodede under the supervision of Austin Eguavoen, will be looking to exact revenge after their previous encounter with Ghana in the CHAN qualifiers.

In the last edition, Ghana knocked Nigeria out on penalties following a 2-2 draw on aggregate. This time, Nigeria will be hoping for a different outcome, especially with their eyes on securing a spot in CHAN 2025.

Ghana's Black Galaxies, who qualified for the last CHAN tournament in Algeria, bring significant experience to the table. Meanwhile, Nigeria will be aiming to add to their CHAN pedigree, having finished as runners-up in 2018 and third place in 2014. Despite their impressive past, the Super Eagles B have yet to lift the CHAN trophy, a drought they will be eager to end.

The winner of this two-legged tie will book their ticket to CHAN 2024, adding another chapter to the rich football rivalry between these two West African nations.
