Former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel has once again pointed to Victor Osimhen as the striker Chelsea need to fix their problems in front of goal, Afrik-Foot reports.
Mikel believes his old club Chelsea are still missing a reliable goalscorer, despite spending big money on new attackers last summer.
Chelsea brought in Joao Pedro and Liam Delap for around £90 million, but the pair have managed just seven Premier League goals between them in 33 appearances. That return has raised fresh questions about the team’s cutting edge.

When asked who could transform Chelsea’s attack, Mikel was clear in his answer.
“Victor Osimhen. He can stretch the play, he can run behind, he can come short, he can score goals, he can do everything,” Mikel said via Tribuna.
The Nigerian forward, who currently plays for Galatasaray, is known for his pace, movement and sharp finishing. Mikel feels those qualities are exactly what Chelsea are missing in tight matches.

Osimhen: Experience that Chelsea are crying out for
Mikel also made it clear that Osimhen’s value goes beyond just goals.
“You need that experienced striker who’s been there, done it, knows how to win big games, knows how to score in big games, knows how to be in the right place at the right time,” he added.
Chelsea’s problem is not a lack of talent, but a lack of proven quality when pressure is highest, says the former midfielder. While young forwards may improve with time, Mikel believes Osimhen would bring instant impact and calm in big moments.

However, signing the striker will not be easy.
Galatasaray are keen to keep hold of their star man, and some of Europe’s biggest clubs are already lining up.
Atletico Madrid want to pair him with his Nigeria teammate Ademola Lookman. Barcelona see Osimhen as a long-term replacement for veteran striker Robert Lewandowski.
Bayern Munich have also added him to their shortlist, while Juventus are keen on a reunion with coach Luciano Spalletti.
Clubs from Saudi Arabia are also expected to return with huge offers for a striker that cost Galatasaray €75 million last summer.
