Super Eagles attacker Chidera Ejuke has an interesting year ahead, as his future hangs in the balance.
He joined Sevilla on a free transfer in 2024, and his time at the club has been topsy-turvy. Last summer, he was expected to leave Sevilla, as the club has needed to make sales over the past two seasons to comply with La Liga’s financial regulations.
He was anticipated to depart just like Suso, Djibril Sow, Juanlu Sánchez, and compatriot Akor Adams, who left for Venezia. Moreover, as he entered the final year of his contract, Sevilla wanted to make a profit from his sale.
However, despite links to Anderlecht and several other clubs across Europe and Saudi Arabia, none of the negotiations materialized. He was even excluded from pre-season plans because the club expected him to leave.

Transfer speculation around the 28-year-old dragged on until the final day of the transfer window. Once the season began, manager Luis García Plaza integrated him back into the squad. Ejuke even featured in Sevilla’s opening match of the campaign.
So far, the Super Eagles star has made six La Liga appearances for Los Nervionenses, though only one has been a start. Away from the pitch, his future remains an urgent concern.

As previously noted, Chidera Ejuke has just one year remaining on his Sevilla contract. Consequently, the club risks losing him on a free transfer next summer once his deal expires. The hierarchy has already decided against offering the Super Eagles winger an extension.
Instead, they aim to sell Ejuke during the January transfer window to recoup some funds. However, the Nigerian’s next destination remains uncertain.
The Three Possible Destinations for Ejuke

According to Spanish outlet Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, three potential destinations have emerged for Ejuke: Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Belgium.
Belgium was a strong possibility during the summer transfer window. At one stage, a move to Anderlecht appeared likely following reported bids, but a deal ultimately failed to materialize.
Russia presents another viable route. The Nigerian is no stranger to the league, having spent two impressive years with CSKA Moscow. While it is difficult to pinpoint which Russian club is currently pursuing him, any suitor would almost certainly be among the country’s top sides.

Meanwhile, a move to Saudi Arabia also remains on the table. Ejuke was linked with Saudi clubs in the summer, though nothing concrete developed. A switch in the winter window cannot be ruled out, particularly if the financial terms are right.
As things stand, the Nigerian winger’s career could take several directions, making January a pivotal month for his future.
