Super Eagles midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi has been named in Marseille’s 22-man squad for their Ligue 1 clash against Brest at Stade Francis-Le Blé Afrik-Foot reports.
Nnadi joined the French giants from Belgian side Zulte Waregem in a €6 million deal during the January transfer window. However, opportunities have been scarce for the 22-year-old defensive midfielder.
Despite being fully fit and training consistently with the first team, Nnadi was excluded from Les Phocéens’ matchday squads for their last three fixtures against Rennes, PSG, and Strasbourg.
While his absence raised eyebrows, it was previously reported that Nnadi was signed as a project player intended to grow and be integrated into the squad gradually.

That wait appears to be over. The Super Eagles star is poised to make his debut for the French giants after being included in the matchday squad for the first time since his arrival.

While he is unlikely to start Sunday’s match against Brest, he is expected to see minutes off the bench.
Can Nnadi Shine At Marseille Under Habib Beye?
The timing of Nnadi’s arrival was chaotic; just eight days after he signed, the club sacked Italian manager Roberto De Zerbi. On Thursday, Marseille officially appointed Habib Beye as his successor.
Early signs suggest Nnadi may thrive under the new leadership. The fact that Beye included the Nigerian international in his very first squad selection indicates that the midfielder is firmly in his plans.

However, Nnadi will need to remain patient at the Stade Vélodrome. With Pierre-Emile Højbjerg currently anchoring the midfield, the young Nigerian will likely have to bide his time before securing a regular spot in the starting eleven.
