Nigerian attacker Daniel Job has completed his transfer to Major League Soccer (MLS) team FC Dallas from Norwegian OBOS-Ligaen side Kongsvinger, Afrik-Foot reports.

​The 21-year-old attacker attracted considerable interest in recent weeks following an impressive run of form for Kongsvinger, where he contributed seven goals and eight assists in 19 appearances.

​Earlier this summer, he was linked to clubs like Lecce, West Ham, and Feyenoord, though none of that speculation materialized.

​Earlier this week, however, reports emerged linking him with MLS club FC Dallas, and the transfer was officially completed last night. Here are the details of the deal.

​Daniel Job has joined FC Dallas on a permanent transfer. While the 21-year-old is valued at €1 million on Transfermarkt, the American club paid €4.5 million to Kongsvinger to secure the move.

​This represents a record sale for Kongsvinger, whose previous record departure was Jesper Grundt, who joined Tromsø for €850,000 last season.

​In fact, the deal is not only a record sale for Kongsvinger, but also the most expensive departure in OBOS-Ligaen history—no small feat, as Norwegian second-tier clubs rarely command such high fees.

​Job signed a four-year contract that keeps him at FC Dallas until 2030, with an option for an additional year that could keep him at the club until 2031.

​Two Interesting Things About Job’s Transfer

​The €4.5 million fee paid for Daniel Job is the fourth-highest transfer sum FC Dallas has ever paid for a player. Their record purchase remains the €9 million spent on Petar Musa in 2024.

​Interestingly, he was not signed to a standard senior roster slot. Instead, he was brought in under the MLS U22 Initiative, which allows Dallas to offer him a lucrative deal while minimizing the hit to the team’s salary cap.

​As of now, the Nigerian’s squad number and exact salary have not been revealed, but this move could easily make him one of the highest earners at the club.
