At just 11, Destiny Ejiofor is already attracting attention within FC Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, Afrik Foot reports.

Reports circulating on social media have suggested the Nigerian-heritage forward as one of the standout talents in his age group.

Widely described as a prolific scorer in youth football, Ejiofor has posted remarkable numbers across various age levels, although exact figures differ between sources and have not been officially confirmed by the club.

Is Destiny Ejiofor a rising talent with Nigerian roots

Per Sun, Destiny is born into a footballing family, Ejiofor is the son of a former Nigerian player who featured in Spain’s lower divisions, and he is not the only one making strides in Catalonia.

His older brothers have also passed through Barcelona’s academy system.

Despite being raised in Spain, Ejiofor’s Nigerian background has not gone unnoticed, with a section of the Nigerian football community already monitoring his progress as a potential future option for the Super Eagles.

Fast-tracked development at Barcelona

Ejiofor’s performances at the youth level have reportedly seen him play above his age group, which is a sign of his rapid development within Barcelona’s structured academy system.

While widely circulated figures claim he has scored at an exceptional rate—including reports of over 100 goals in a single youth campaign—these numbers largely stem from small-sided matches and tournament football, where scoring rates are typically higher.

Even so, his reputation as a clinical finisher with pace continues to grow among youth observers.

Early spotlights like Yamal & Messi

Ejiofor’s emergence has drawn comparisons in the media to elite forwards such as Lionel Messi and Lamine Yamal, who were both products of La Masia.

However, such parallels remain speculative, particularly given his age and the long developmental path required to reach senior football.

There have also been reports linking him with early commercial interest from Nike, though details of any agreement remain unconfirmed publicly.
