Former Super Eagles and Juventus midfielder Sunday Oliseh has played up the impact of Akor Adams at Sevilla, Afrik Foot reports.
The 26-year-old joined Los Nervionenses just over a year ago, but his first five months at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán didn’t go as the Benue-born forward wanted.
Injury problems led to a loss of form, allowing Akor to play just four games. However, the start of the 2025/2026 season turned into a new page for the former Montpellier striker.
A goal and an assist against FC Barcelona saw him receive his maiden call-up to the Nigerian National team, and he soared from there, forming a bond in the Super Eagles attack with Victor Osimhen, and the pair blossomed at the AFCON 2025 tournament in Morocco.

Super Eagles: Sunday Oliseh lauds Akor Adams Sevilla impact
Speaking on the Sunday Oliseh Global Football Insights show, the former Super Eagles captain was pleased with the fortitude Akor Adams has shown in his short spell in Spain.
“Offensively, there is the Akor Adams impulse effect. Under manager Matias Almeyda, Sevilla have moved away from a slow build-up to a direct high-energy attack,” the former Borussia Dortmund said, referencing how Adams fits Sevilla’s playing style.

“Since joining from Montpellier in 2025, Akor Adams has become the face of Sevilla’s survival.
“He’s a physical freak. He’s tall, he’s fast, and he’s very agile. He doesn’t wait for the perfect pass. He uses his strength to hold off defenders and his pace to stretch the game.
“Fresh off a bronze medal with the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the AFCON, Adams saved Sevilla with a brace against Elche. Believe me, this boy is good,” the 51-year-old concluded.
