Former Super Eagles and VfL Wolfsburg striker Jonathan Akpoborie has urged Victor Osimhen to return to Germany following Bayern’s interest, Afrik Foot reports.
The 57-year-old spent most of his playing career across several tiers of German football, representing clubs like Saarbrücken, Carl Zeiss Jena, Hansa Rostock, Stuttgart, and VfL Wolfsburg.
Osimhen’s entry into professional football began with VfL Wolfsburg after the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup triumph in Chile.
While he was only able to make a few appearances at the club, Akpoborie believes the few years Osimhen spent in Germany would aid his adaptation process, should he decide to join Bayern Munich.

Akpoborie holds a German passport after spending over a decade across clubs in the country, and has urged Osimhen to consider a move to the six-time UEFA Champions League winners
“He’s doing fantastically well at Galatasaray. He developed in Germany and must have learnt a little bit of German,” the 1996 Olympic Gold medallist said on the Playzone podcast.
“The background of his development was in Germany. He knows the culture from Wolfsburg, so it will be very easy for him to fit in.
“I strongly believe one of the reasons Osimhen is at Galatasaray is money. Maybe the agent was greedy.

“Then, everything around Victor was always a drama. His abusing Finidi; everyone saw that. Everyone watches a top player in today’s game.
“Talent isn’t enough, behaviour off the pitch plays an important role because those little things affect the team. Before he fought the National team coach, he already fought his coach at Napoli.
“I first saw Victor at Wolfsburg. I love him a lot, and we have a picture together.
“I’d compare myself to him in the way we played on the pitch, but without all the drama that he does on the pitch, which he doesn’t really need,” the ex-Super Eagles striker concluded.
