Lazio manager Marco Baroni has admitted concerns over Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru’s fitness after he picked up a knock in Saturday’s 0-0 draw against Venezia at the Stadio Pierluigi Penzo.
The Nigeria international was named in Marco Baroni's starting XI, partnering Matteo Guendouzi in midfield as a replacement for the suspended Nicolò Rovella.
However, the on-loan Hatayspor midfielder’s outing was cut short after he sustained an ankle sprain in the first half, forcing him off in the 40th minute to be replaced by Reda Belahyane.

Uncertain about Dele-Bashiru's availability for Tuesday’s crucial Coppa Italia clash against Inter, the Italian manager stressed the need to first assess the severity of the injury before making any decisions.

Baroni expressed concern over Fisayo Dele-Bashiru’s fitness ahead of Tuesday’s crucial Coppa Italia clash with Inter, admitting that the club must first assess the extent of his injury.
“We have to verify his condition. He felt pain when he took that shot. Playing every two or three days, it’s going to be difficult to get him recovered for the next match,” Baroni said in his post-match press conference, as shared by DAZN.

The 23-year-old has been a pivotal figure for I Biancocelesti, registering five goals and two assists in 23 appearances across all competitions while averaging 53 minutes per match.
Dele-Bashiru joined the Italian outfit from Turkish side Hatayaspor on a season-long loan with an option to buy, with the transfer fee expected to reach €7 million, with a potential contract extending until 2028.
He has recently been linked with Premier League powerhouses Arsenal and Manchester City, as well as Italian giants Juventus.
