Super Eagles and Coventry City midfielder Frank Onyeka is set for a Premier League return, Afrik Foot reports.

The 28-year-old joined the Sky Blue Stars on loan from Brentford during the winter transfer window, with an option to buy included, should Coventry gain promotion to the English top-flight.

In the 10 games Onyeka has played for Frank Lampard’s side, seven of them have ended in victories, and two draws, highlighting his importance as he steadied the midfield alongside Jack Rudoni.

Emmanuel Okoduwa delighted with Frank Onyeka’s Premier League return

Former Super Eagles and Dynamo Kyiv forward Emmanuel Okoduwa has weighed in on Onyeka’s fortunes at Coventry since joining from Brentford.

“I have been keenly following the Championship since Frank (Onyeka) joined the team, and I am happy with his progress,” the one-cap Super Eagles striker said in an interview with Footy Africa.

So now, seeing him help push the club back to the Premier League is a good thing. He has been a good signing for them since he joined, and I am glad he will have another crack at the Premier League.

“I also just found out that he will stay with the club if they gain promotion, and I hope that is the case, as a permanent transfer to the club will be good for him.”

“A lot of people were not happy he took a step down to find more playing time, but look at how well it has turned out.

“I am happy for him and the club, as well as the coach Frank Lampard, who is someone I admire a lot,” the 42-year-old concluded.
