Galatasaray vice-president Abdullah Kavukcu has said the transfer value of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has risen sharply since joining the Turkish champions, Afrik-Foot reports.
The Super Eagles forward completed a permanent move from Napoli last summer after Galatasaray activated his €75 million release clause, a fee that initially surprised many observers.
But after an impressive first full season in Istanbul, the club now believe the striker’s market value has doubled.
Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Kavukcu said:
“When we bought him, many people talked about it as a crazy investment. I think Victor proved everyone wrong, considering his value has doubled.”

Osimhen’s performances have quickly justified the investment. The Nigerian has scored 15 goals and provided five assists in 23 appearances this season, combining speed, physical strength and clinical finishing.
His form has attracted attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Atlético Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
Galatasaray, however, insist they remain happy with the striker and hope to continue building success around him.

Victor Osimhen: Big transfer still uncertain
Despite growing transfer rumours, Galatasaray are keen to keep Osimhen beyond the summer transfer window.
Kavukcu added: “We know he’s one of the best centre-forwards in the world, and we want to achieve great things together.”
Osimhen himself has previously acknowledged that top clubs regularly show interest in signing him, but his strong connection with Galatasaray supporters has helped keep him focused on life in Istanbul.
Still, a major offer from one of Europe’s elite sides could test the Turkish club’s resolve.

A potential €150 million transfer would place Osimhen among the most expensive players in football history. Only Neymar and Kylian Mbappé have moved for fees at or above that level, both joining Paris Saint-Germain in record-breaking deals.
English giants Liverpool are also believed to be monitoring the situation after reportedly spending €148 million on Alexander Isak last summer.
On the pitch, Osimhen continues to deliver. He has already registered six goals and two assists in seven UEFA Champions League matches this season.
