Bundesliga outfit Hamburg are on the verge of completing a deal to sign Super Eagles forward Terem Moffi from Nice ahead of the 2026/27 German league season, Afrik-Foot reports.
The German side have been keen on signing the Nigerian attacker this summer, although they have faced competition from the likes of Besiktas and Samsunspor, who were also interested in signing the forward.
Moffi’s future became uncertain after he returned to Nice from his loan spell at Porto during the second half of last season, where he helped the club win the Portuguese league.
Porto decided against taking up the option to sign him permanently, meaning Moffi returned to Nice with his future still unclear. However, it had become increasingly certain that the Nigerian striker would leave the French club this summer.

The 27-year-old was involved in an assault in November 2025 when he was attacked by some sections of Nice supporters. He has not played for the club since then.
His future now appears to be reaching a conclusion, with Hamburg closing in on a deal to bring him to the Bundesliga.
What is left for Terem Moffi to join Hamburg?
According to OneFootball, Hamburg have now reached an agreement with Nice over the transfer of Terem Moffi. The details of the agreement are not yet known, but the deal has reportedly cleared a major hurdle with the two clubs agreeing on the transfer.

However, there is still one key obstacle to overcome before the transfer can be finalized. Hamburg must reach an agreement with Moffi over personal terms before the Super Eagles forward can complete his move to the German club.
Moffi earned around €2.73 million in basic wages last season, with a further €410,000 available in bonuses and his salary could now become the main stumbling block in the negotiations, with Hamburg potentially unable to match his previous earnings.
As a result, Moffi may have to accept a pay cut to make the move to Hamburg happen.

Once an agreement is reached, Moffi would be free to complete his switch to the Bundesliga, where he will hope to rediscover his prolific goalscoring form and revive his career after a difficult spell at Nice.
