Turkish Super Lig side Samsunspor have become the latest club to show interest in Nigerian striker Terem Moffi ahead of a possible move away from Nice this summer, Afrik-Foot reports.
Moffi is widely expected to leave the French club this summer and has attracted interest from several sides, although nothing has been agreed or finalized at this stage.
The 27-year-old was attacked by some sections of Nice supporters last November and has not played for the club since then. He subsequently joined Portuguese giants Porto during the winter transfer window and spent the second half of last season with the club, helping them win the league title.
However, Porto opted against signing him on a permanent deal, and Moffi returned to Nice at the end of his loan spell.

Since his return, the Nigerian forward has been linked with a move to German Bundesliga side Hamburg, as well as Turkish giants Besiktas, with his future still uncertain as the 2026/27 season gets underway.
Why Samsunspor want Terem Moffi
According to Transfermarkt, Samsunspor are now keen on signing Moffi this summer as they look to add another attacking option to their squad.
Although they have only recently joined the race for his signature, there are several reasons behind their interest in the Nigerian striker.
One of the biggest reasons behind Samsunspor’s interest in Moffi is their need for a new centre forward and more attacking reinforcements. Samsunspor scored 46 goals in the Turkish league last season, and they will be looking to improve their attacking output as they prepare for the new campaign.

The Turkish club are therefore in need of a forward who can provide more quality and a greater goal threat in the final third, which explains why Moffi has emerged as an attractive option and he has the qualities to lead the line and could give Samsunspor another dimension in attack if they manage to get a deal over the line.
Another reason for Samsunspor’s interest is Moffi’s proven goalscoring record, particularly from his time in France.
The striker has shown in Ligue 1 that he can score goals when given regular opportunities. Although his form and playing time have been underwhelming in recent months, he has previously demonstrated that he still has the ability to make an impact at a high level.
Moffi also showed flashes of his quality during Nigeria’s 2026 Unity Cup campaign, giving another indication that he can still be an important attacking player when given the right environment.

A move to Turkey could provide him with the opportunity to rediscover his best form away from the pressure and difficulties he has experienced at Nice.
Adapting to the Turkish league should also not be a major problem for Moffi, especially with the growing number of Nigerian players currently featuring in the country. Their presence could help him settle into his new surroundings and adapt to Turkish football more quickly.
On the pitch, Moffi can offer more than just goals. His pace, strength and ability to shield the ball can make him very useful to his teammates, while his physical presence allows him to bring other attackers into the game.
Moffi’s availability is another factor that could work in Samsunspor’s favour. The Nigerian forward is keen to leave Nice and the French club are also finding a solution for his future.
Nice would prefer a permanent transfer, but a loan deal cannot be completely ruled out if a suitable agreement can be reached.
That could make Moffi an attractive target for Samsunspor, as they could potentially secure the services of a proven striker without having to spend a huge amount on a permanent transfer immediately.

Samsunspor will have to fend off competition from Hamburg if they want to secure his signature. The German club have also been linked with the Nigerian striker and could provide strong competition in the race for his services.
With Moffi expected to leave Nice before the end of the transfer window, either Hamburg or Samsunspor could now emerge as his next destination as both clubs look to strengthen their attacking options.
