EA Sports FC 27 has given Nigerian football fans a fresh way to compare the country’s biggest stars, with the latest player ratings revealing where the Super Eagles and Super Falcons stand in the game’s hierarchy, Afrik-foot reports.

From Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman to Alex Iwobi and Ola Aina, Nigeria has several highly-rated players across the pitch. But who is the best Nigerian player in each position?

Here is a position-by-position look at Nigeria’s top stars in EA Sports FC 27.

Goalkeeper: Chiamaka Nnadozie – 85

Chiamaka Nnadozie is not only Nigeria’s highest-rated goalkeeper but also one of the country’s two joint-highest-rated players overall.

The Super Falcons star has been handed an 85 overall rating, putting her level with Victor Osimhen at the top of EA’s Nigerian rankings.

Her 88 dribbling and 87 pace are particularly unusual numbers for a goalkeeper, while her 84 physicality also makes her one of the most complete Nigerian cards in FC 27.

Nnadozie’s rating also shows the growing presence of the Super Falcons in EA’s ratings hierarchy.

Right-back: Ola Aina – 79

Ola Aina leads the way among Nigerian right-backs with a 79 overall rating.

The versatile defender combines 87 pace with 77 defending, making him one of Nigeria’s most useful options for players looking to build a balanced squad.

Aina’s speed is arguably his biggest selling point, allowing him to compete with some of the fastest attackers he could face.

Centre-back: Calvin Bassey – 78

Calvin Bassey is currently Nigeria’s highest-rated centre-back, with an overall rating of 78.

The Fulham defender’s 85 physicality is his standout attribute, while his 77 defending and 77 pace give him a strong all-round profile.

He is followed by several Nigerian defenders rated in the mid-70s, including Jordan Torunarigha, Felix Agu, Emmanuel Fernandez, Zaidu Sanusi and Igoh Ogbu.

Defensive midfield: Raphael Onyedika – 78

Raphael Onyedika takes the honours among Nigeria’s defensive midfielders with a 78 rating.

The Club Brugge midfielder’s 75 defending and 84 physicality underline his value as a ball-winning presence in midfield.

Wilfred Ndidi, meanwhile, has been rated 75, meaning the younger Onyedika currently sits three points ahead of the experienced Super Eagles midfielder.

Central midfield: Alex Iwobi – 80

Alex Iwobi is Nigeria’s highest-rated central midfielder in EA FC 27, with an 80 overall rating.

Iwobi’s 82 dribbling and 79 passing show his reputation as one of Nigeria’s more technically gifted midfielders.

His rating also puts him in the same 80-rated bracket as Super Falcons stars Jennifer Echegini and Gift Monday.

Wide attack: Ademola Lookman – 83

Ademola Lookman is Nigeria’s highest-rated wide attacker in FC 27, although EA currently lists him as a striker.

His 83 overall rating makes him the third-highest-rated Nigerian player in the database, behind only Nnadozie and Osimhen.

Lookman’s combination of 86 pace, 83 shooting and 84 dribbling makes him one of the most complete attacking cards among Nigerian players.

Samuel Chukwueze is another standout option, with a 78 rating, 87 pace and 82 dribbling.

Striker: Victor Osimhen – 85

There is little debate over Nigeria’s leading striker in FC 27.

Victor Osimhen has been rated 85 overall, putting him joint-top among all Nigerian players.

His 89 pace, 84 shooting and 86 physicality make him the obvious choice for Nigeria’s number nine position.

Paul Onuachu is the next highest-rated Nigerian striker at 77, while Victor Boniface, Umar Sadiq and several other forwards sit on 76 or below.

Women’s football changes the picture

One of the most interesting aspects of Nigeria’s FC 27 ratings is how strongly the Super Falcons feature among the country’s highest-rated players.

Nnadozie is joint-top at 85, while Rasheedat Ajibade is rated 81 and Jennifer Echegini and Gift Monday both have 80.

That means four of Nigeria’s top seven players in EA’s ratings are Super Falcons stars.

It is a reminder that Nigeria’s strongest representation in FC 27 is no longer restricted to the men’s national team.

The verdict

Nigeria’s FC 27 ratings reveal an interesting balance between established Super Eagles stars and a growing group of Super Falcons players.

Osimhen and Nnadozie lead the country at 85, Lookman follows at 83, while Ajibade, Iwobi, Echegini and Gift Monday form the next tier.

The ratings also point to strength in attack, with Osimhen, Lookman and several fast wide players giving Nigeria plenty of attacking options.

Defensively, however, the gap is more obvious. Aina’s 79 rating makes him Nigeria’s best full-back, while Bassey leads the centre-backs at 78.

For Nigerian fans building a squad in EA FC 27, Nigeria has elite options in goal and attack, but the biggest room for improvement is at the back.

Nonetheless, EA’s ratings database can still be updated throughout the game’s cycle, meaning these rankings could change as new cards and player updates arrive.
