Former Huddersfield Town and AFC Wimbledon midfielder Jack Rudoni has lauded Frank Onyeka’s impact in his first two games for Coventry City, Afrik Foot reports.

The 28-year-old joined the Sky Blue Stars from Brentford in the January transfer window, and has helped Frank Lampard’s men secure two wins in two games as they look to secure promotion to the English Premier League.

The former Chelsea boss was pleased with Onyeka after he was given the Man of the Match award in Coventry City’s 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion yesterday.

Typically an attacking midfielder, Rudoni has played alongside the Nigerian in two games, bagging a goal against West Bromwich Albion and an assist against Middlesbrough.

The Englishman revealed that Onyeka’s inclusion in the starting lineup helped him reduce his defensive workload.

“He [Onyeka] has been excellent, looking at his last two performances, and he’s gotten the man of the match as well,” the 24-year-old said in his post-match presser.

“He’s called the Tank for a reason, isn’t he?, because he gets around the middle of the park and wins battles a lot, so he frees me up as well, it’s perfect.

“I get along with him really well, to be fair, that’s my guy, he’s just a chill guy, but not on the pitch, he gets onto people. He’s a top guy,” Rudoni concluded.
