Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has played down talks of a contract renewal at Celtic, Afrik Foot reports.
The 29-year-old joined the Hoops back in September, contributing to three goals in his first four games.
Since then, he’s struggled with hamstring problems and has seen his gametime significantly reduced as Coach Martin O’Neill plans to reinstate him properly to avoid a third hamstring tear this season.
On his first outing since March against Dundee, Iheanacho found the back of the net in the 82nd minute to seal a 2-1 win for the Record SPFL Champions.

Kelechi Iheancho plays down new Celtic contract
After terminating his contract with Sevilla last summer, Iheanacho penned a one-year deal with Celtic, with the option to extend for another year included.
However, the injury problems he’s had cast a doubt over the possibility of an extension. His goal against Dundee has turned things back in his favour at Celtic Park.
The striker has now cleared the air regarding a contract extension, claiming his priority is securing the league title for the club.

“I think in terms of that, we’re literally focusing now on the games going forward. Anything that concerns the contract will be maybe after the season, after we achieve our goals,” the former Leicester City forward said in quotes revealed by the Celtic Star.
“Yeah, obviously when you’re injured as a player it’s really difficult. Sometimes you could put your head down and all that.
“Obviously, you support your team, but it’s really sad sometimes not getting on the pitch, contributing to the club that signed you.
“So it’s really sad sometimes. But you just need to keep going and work hard to get your rehab done and get ready to come back stronger to help the team.
“I’m sure I’m fit to start games, but obviously it’s up to the manager to pick who he wants to start the games.
“Almost everyone is fit. We’ve got players coming back as well, so we’ve got a good squad to achieve that at the end of the season.
“We just need to take it one game at a time and hopefully it will fall for us.
“But I’m really sure I’m perfectly okay to start games,” Kelechi Iheanacho concluded.
